Dual-Boot Custom PS3 Firmware On The Horizon

PS3 hacking is a big deal these days. Everyone at it. Well, maybe not everyone but it seems to be growing in popularity with each passing day and Sony has helped it grow by removing the Linux install option from its PS3 software. Now hackers are working on giving users the option of choosing what OS they wish to boot into when they switch their PS3s on – dual-booting tocoin an old PC phrase.
So what’s the deal? New PS3 hacking king Kmeaw says he may look into building a dual-boot feature – so long as there’s demand for it.
I was thinking of a CFW that has bootOS integrated so it gets executed when you power on your PS3 (and switches back to GameOS on user’s request via menu or ssh). It’s not hard to make it.
But recently I read graf’s announcement that he is going to accomplish the same task. So I don’t know, if such CFW from me would get any demand.
Also I got bootos-installer and lv2patcher patches from an anonymous hacker who have added 3.15/3.41 support. I’m going to merge them into my code and release the next version.
If you have any ideas about what would you like to have, please tell me.
Kmeaw’s claim to fame is his release of a custom PS3 3.55 firmware which comes complete with all the jailbreak patches a budding hacker’s heart could desire. If you were doubting the guy’s ability to pull something like this off, don’t.
Hopefully Kmeaw’s past release of all singing all dancing firmwares bodes well for a user-friendly dual-boot feature at some point in the future.

Untether for iOS 4.3.1 Jailbreak is Available If You Can Crack the Password

untether for the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak but you'll have to be able to crack the zip password to access it.

Some people still did not get that the untether.zip "leak" was intentional. Have fun bruteforcing a 30 character AES password.

Ehmm it is a simple ZIP file with AES encryption. winzip / 7z support that.

The untether is downloadable at http://antid0te.com/untether.zip (but only if you can crack the ZIP password)

The problem is: I forgot the password.

It is only mean if you are really so desperate that you cannot wait for the dev-team to release redsn0w with it.

So as I0n1c says, if you know what you are doing and absolutely can't wait till the Dev-Team releases their jailbreak then you can download and crack the untether for your own use.

Apple Blocks Jailbreak App Store Cydia In Its Stores

Apple is taking an unusual step in the war again jailbreakers, and it’s not what you may think.
In the past, Apple has tried blocking jailbreakers by changing how iOS handles memory and has made changes to its mobile iOS in general many times. Now though they’re just trying to make life difficult even after you’ve jailbroken.
Cydia
iPhoneDownloadBlog brings news that when attempting to access jailbreak App Store Cydia using an Apple Store’s WiFi, users are now finding the app loading Apple’s own website instead of the expected jailbreak goodness.
Of course this isn’t going to make the slightest bit of difference to the hardcore jailbreak community, but it’s interesting to see that Apple has taken these steps at all. By the time someone with a jailbroken iDevice access a WiFi hotspot, it’s a bit late to be trying to prove a point!
You go Apple, you sure told the jailbreakers there!
